Last updated: September 20, 2026. flooo is designed to work without an account. It does not use advertising trackers, sell personal information, or record audio from your microphone.
Preferences stay on your device
Your volume, theme, timer, sound mix, installation reminder, temperature unit, and optional city choice are stored in your browser. Clearing flooo's site data removes them. The service worker also caches the app, artwork, and meditation audio so the installed web app can work offline.
Anonymous presence counts
While flooo is open and active, it sends a small same-origin heartbeat about once per minute. It contains a random browser identifier, whether audio is playing, and whether flooo is running as an installed app. The identifier is not tied to an account or diagnostic report, rotates after 24 hours, and expires from the live session registry after about two minutes of inactivity.
The server retains only aggregate minute-level counts—such as active and listening sessions—for up to 90 days. It does not retain the rotating identifiers in analytics history. Network addresses may be processed temporarily for rate limiting and abuse prevention, but are not stored in the analytics history.
Weather and location are optional
Hourly music works from your device clock without location. If you search for a city or tap Use my location, your browser sends the city or rounded coordinates directly to Open-Meteo for geocoding and weather. flooo's server does not receive that location. The chosen location and cached forecast remain in your browser until you choose Time only or clear site data.
Your browser asks for location permission only after you tap Use my location. You can deny or revoke that permission and continue using every non-weather feature.
Diagnostic reports require consent
If playback fails, you may choose to send a diagnostic report. Before anything is uploaded, flooo shows a consent checkbox. The report can include the app version, browser and device information, your optional description, and a bounded history of recent playback events.
Reports do not include cookies, credentials, microphone input, recorded audio, your rotating presence identifier, or your selected city. They are available only through the protected administrator area and are deleted after 30 days.
Meditation narration
Meditation narration was generated during production and is served as static audio. Listening does not send your meditation choices, transcript, or audio to OpenAI.
No account and no advertising profile
flooo has no user accounts, advertising SDKs, cross-site analytics pixels, or marketing email list. Links to external sites—including Open-Meteo, Product Hunt, and the maker's X profile—are governed by those sites' own privacy practices after you follow them.
Your choices
You can use flooo without location access and without submitting diagnostics. You can remove locally stored preferences and cached files through your browser's site-data controls or by uninstalling the PWA.
